Throughout the history of the Scottish Rite Valley of Asheville, we have shown support for our brothers, their families, our community, and those less fortunate both near and far. The following programs and charities help to further explain ideals we value and how the Valley of Asheville and Masonry (itself) continue to support, influence, and shape our society.

Fundraisers

In Washington, the Supreme Council Southern Jurisdiction has two foundations: The House of the Temple Preservation Trust and The Scottish Rite Foundation. This is used to help start new clinics (usual grant is about 25 K) and fund scholarships.

Orient of NC Charities

The Orient of North Carolina charity is the three Ritecare Clinics. The North Carolina Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation was established about 25 years ago to help fund these clinics. This is a 501(c)3 corporation, which means contributions to it are tax-deductible. The Foundation Board President is Dr. Brunk, The Orient SGIG.

Over the years, over two million dollars have been donated to our Clinics. The Foundation is currently engaged in a massive fund-raising attempt to endow our clinics, called the Ritevoice Campaign.

Contributions should be made to our valley secretary, who forwards them to the treasurer of the Foundation, Bro. Joe Knox. View the mission statement of the Foundation. Each of our clinics welcome visitors, which I would be happy to facilitate. - Bro. Marty Fischer.

Ambassador Program

The Mission of the Scottish Rite Ambassador Council is to provide educational and recruitment materials and support to the 44 Ambassadors in the Valley. Ensure information flows between all Ambassadors and the Valley and provide recruitment and public relation support to the Valley website.

The Mission of each Scottish Rite Ambassador is to act as the "Duly Authorized Asheville Valley Representative" to their home Blue Lodge. To educate and recruit their interested Blue Lodge members and to serve as a conduit between their Blue Lodge Officers, members of the Scottish Rite with-in their Blue Lodge and the Valley Officers.

In addition each Ambassador is tasked to:

-Build relationships between the 44 Blue Lodges and the Scottish Rite Valley of Asheville
-Maintain contact with the Valley Ambassador Council
-Contact the Valley Secretary of any Blue Lodge Scottish Rite members illness, death, demit, NPD and general membership updates
-Promote all Valley events
-Promote the Childhood Learning Centers
-Contact and support the Valley Almoner and Almoner's Fund
-Communicate the message and benefits of Scottish Rite to all Master Masons
-Inform and encourage Blue Lodge Scottish Rite Brethren involvement
-Attend, if possible, all Blue Lodge and Valley stated Communications
-Communicate all Ambassador changes to the Valley Secretary and Council

Knights of St. Andrew

The mission of the Knights of Saint Andrew, per their official website...
The Knights of St. Andrew exist as a service organization on behalf of all members of their Consistory. They are under the immediate supervision of the Secretary (Rick Patton) of their Scottish Rite Consistory and provide services where they are needed. This includes, but is not limited to...
-Aiding the Tylers
-Acting as greeters
-Providing escort services for dignitaries or for special events created for the ladies during reunions or other functions
-Serving as guides
-Assisting with the Scottish Rite degree work
-Helping present the Colors
-Assist in the calling of committees
-Participate in parades AND civic activities
-Promote fund-raising events
-Aid in any special event

The list can continue on as new ideas and concepts are developed to meet needs and goals.

Their flexibility and enthusiasm make the Knights of St. Andrew one of the Valley's most active and desirable organizations. It is an excellent way to nurture and develop future leaders as they learn their organizational and leadership skills, explore the inner structures of their Scottish Rite Centers, and thus gain a deeper admiration for our Order and Brethren who work in Freemasonry as a whole.

"The more I come in contact with the work of the Masonic Fraternity the more impressed I am by the great charitable work and the great practical good which we are carrying out." - Franklin D Roosevelt
